Data Storage & Security
Local-First Architecture
Awesome is built on a local-first architecture. Your workspace data, including files, agent configurations, and conversation history, remains on your device unless you explicitly enable sync.
Optional Sync
If you enable sync, your data is encrypted end-to-end using keys derived on your device. We cannot read your synced data — only you can decrypt it.
Secure Credential Storage
API keys and secrets are stored in your operating system's secure credential storage:
- macOS: Keychain
- Windows: Credential Manager
- Linux: libsecret
Hosted Inference
When you use our hosted AI models, requests are processed on dedicated infrastructure in our AWS account. We maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance and adhere to GDPR requirements. Zero data retention is enabled by default — your prompts and responses are not stored after processing.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With your explicit consent
- To comply with legal obligations
- With service providers who assist in operating our services (subject to strict confidentiality agreements)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data
- Opt out of analytics collection
Children's Privacy
Awesome is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
